Assignment Description:

We are looking for a Verification & Validation Engineer (Level 2) to join an R&D team working with protection and control products used in substation automation.

The role is fully on-site and involves product and system testing during the development phase prior to product release. You will work in a structured test team consisting of test engineers and a test lead, with a strong focus on quality, safety, and compliance with industry standards.

What you will work on:

  • Perform product and system verification and validation testing for protection and control systems
  • Develop and maintain test specifications based on product requirements
  • Configure products and systems prior to testing in accordance with specifications and substation automation standards
  • Establish complete test setups, including auxiliary equipment, wiring, and supervision
  • Automate test cases where applicable to improve efficiency and repeatability
  • Execute manual and automated tests according to defined test plans
  • Document, report, and analyze test results and deviations
  • Ensure electrical safety during all test activities
  • Collaborate closely with the test team to ensure high-quality and reliable test outcomes

What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent professional experience
  • 2–5 years of hands-on experience within substation automation, protection relays, and/or system testing
  • Good knowledge of substation automation standards, such as IEC 61850
  • Solid understanding of communication protocols and systems
  • Experience in product and system testing within R&D or industrial environments
  • Structured and detail-oriented approach to testing and documentation
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Fluency in both Swedish and English, spoken and written
  • Background in electronics systems, communication technology, software testing, automation, or electrical engineering is highly relevant
