We are looking for a strategic and business-oriented legal leader to take on the role of Head of Legal Global Functions & Specialists. This is a senior position with global scope, offering the opportunity to shape how legal support and compliance risk management are embedded across key business functions.

About the RoleIn this role, you will have overall responsibility for legal support and first-line core compliance risk management across Global Functions within the Trucks Technology & Industrial Division as well as specialist support in regulatory areas. You will act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, ensuring that legal considerations are integrated into business decisions while enabling growth and innovation.You will lead a team of legal professionals, working closely with functions across the organization. Many team members are embedded within the business, either in smaller specialist teams or as individual contributors, with some participating directly in leadership teams.

Key ResponsibilitiesYou will be part of the leadership team for the Legal & Volvo Group IP function within the Trucks Technology & Industrial Division, together with four other leaders and the Head of Legal & Volvo Group IP, and have the joint responsibility to lead and drive function, being a business support and enabler within the areas of legal, compliance and IP. The Legal & Volvo Group IP function consists of five teams/departments, set up according to business needs and working in close collaboration. You will lead the team Global Functions & Specialists, with senior and skilled lawyers and specialists supporting contract drafting and negotiations for strategic partnerships and the like, strategic purchasing topics, core compliance, product compliance, digital compliance, human rights, customs and trade and other regulatory matters. The team is located in Sweden, France and the United States.A central part of the role is to equip the organization with tools, frameworks, and guidance that enable teams to navigate legal complexity with confidence. In addition, you will contribute to and align with legal ways of working across value chain functions, ensuring consistency and effectiveness. Close collaboration across the legal function and with business stakeholders will be essential to success in this role.

What You BringYou are a senior lawyer with extensive experience in a leadership role within an international organization and genuine interest in leadership. You bring deep expertise across multiple compliance and regulatory domains, along with a strong commercial and can-do mindset and the ability to translate complex legal matters into clear, actionable guidance. You have a proven track record of leading distributed teams and influencing stakeholders in matrix environments, supported by a collaborative mindset, excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
