Electronics Hardware Design Engineer

Job Description:

The client is seeking a highly experienced Electronics Hardware Design Engineer to join their Electronics & Software division. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to next-generation powertrain control development, supporting the transition toward sustainable mobility.

The selected candidate will work within a high-performing, in-house engineering team to deliver advanced powertrain solutions, covering both hybrid systems and fully electric platforms, including electrical drive units and inverter technologies.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of electronic control units (ECUs), such as ECMs and inverters, ensuring end-to-end product accountability.
  • Oversee the full hardware development lifecycle, from initial concept through industrialization and production release.
  • Drive the transition of electronic designs into scalable, production-ready solutions aligned with automotive standards.
  • Ensure design robustness by addressing challenges related to EMC, electrical load management, and circuit board pin configurations.
  • Work collaboratively with software engineers, architects, and cross-functional experts to ensure seamless system integration and optimized node architecture.
  • Serve as the primary technical liaison between internal stakeholders and external suppliers, facilitating efficient communication and issue resolution.


Total Years of Experience Required:

  • Extensive hands-on experience in automotive electronics hardware development (typically 5–10+ years preferred).


Educational Requirements:

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.


Required Skills:

  • Strong expertise in automotive electronics hardware design
  • In-depth knowledge of ECUs and inverter systems
  • Experience with industrialization of automotive electronic components
  • Solid understanding of EMC principles and electrical load handling
  • Familiarity with communication protocols between electronic nodes
  • Competence in circuit board design, including input/output pin configuration
  • Understanding of software-hardware interaction and ECU topology
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to take full ownership of technical solutions


Preferred Experience:

  • Prior experience with organizations within the Western Sweden automotive ecosystem is considered an advantage


Language Requirements:

  • English – Proficient
  • Swedish – Proficient
