Marketing Procurement Manager to Retail Company

We’re looking for an experienced Category Manager to step into a key procurement role within the fashion industry. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of strategic sourcing, category development, and stakeholder management – all within a global retail organization known for its dynamic and fast-paced environment. The assignment is full-time (starting ASAP until 30th June) and based in Stockholm.

About the role:

As a Category Manager in Marketing Procurement, you’ll lead the strategic development and execution of the Advocacy & Influence category. Reporting into a central procurement function, your focus will be on optimizing value through sourcing initiatives, supplier management, and contract strategy. You'll work closely with cross-functional stakeholders and lead procurement efforts that align with both commercial goals and sustainability values.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess current category spend and identify areas for improvement through data-driven analysis

  • Develop and implement strategic category plans, including sourcing initiatives

  • Manage supplier performance and maintain strong relationships across current and potential partners

  • Ensure compliance with long-term contracts and deliver sustainable value

  • Drive innovation and strategic change within the category, including change management across functions

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and influence key decision-makers

  • Lead and align category teams to deliver procurement goals effectively

About you:

You are an experienced procurement professional with deep expertise in marketing-related categories such as media, production, or digital services. You thrive in complex organizations and are confident in managing a wide stakeholder landscape. Your strategic mindset, paired with strong analytical and negotiation skills, allows you to drive long-term impact while also delivering on short-term goals. You understand the value of structured change management and can navigate ambiguity to deliver progress.

Experience and skills:
  • Proven track record in Category Management and sourcing of Marketing Services within large enterprises

  • University degree in Procurement, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or similar

  • Strong analytical skills, including spend analysis and opportunity assessments

  • Experience with pricing models and contract structures

  • Skilled in stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration

  • Fluent in English

  • Solid experience in driving change within complex organizations

  • Confident in leading strategic sourcing initiatives and negotiations

About the assignment

For this assignment you will be hired as a full-time consultant by Digitalenta.
